Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween! Let’s talk pumpkin! #NationalpumpkinDay was on October 26th, just in time to celebrate before carving them up for Halloween! This squash is native to North America. The oldest evidence of pumpkin-related seeds were found in Mexico prior to domesticated corn or beans. Indigenous peoples began to propagate the squash with corn and beans with a style known as the "Three Sisters" (companion planting style) allowing all three to thrive in their conditions sustainably. Let's celebrate the pumpkin this Halloween, but let's also celebrate those that cultivated and made this versatile gourd a long standing success for future generations to come.
